Innovative gardens and spaces for children.

Twenty years of innovation

The founder of EarlySpace, Nancy Striniste has focused her work on children and the spaces they inhabit since 1984. She began her career as a childcare teacher in Boston working with infants and toddlers. Her creativity and innovations in her own classrooms led to presentations for teachers on spaces for babies, which led to her first design projects. She has been creating spaces for children and teaching teachers about the physical environment ever since.

Ms. Striniste received her BS in Education from Wheelock College. She has studied design and children's spaces at the College of Design at North Carolina State University, Tufts University and Harvard Graduate School of Design and holds a Graduate Certificate in Landscape Design from George Washington University.

In the 90's she was a founding resident of Arcadia, a sustainably designed, child-friendly cohousing community in Carrboro, North Carolina.

She now lives under a green roof in Arlington, Virginia with her husband, two children and many pets.
